People always try to find a reason not to be in shape. Most common situations are the lack of leisure time, a lot of stress or bad genetics. The harsh reality is that most people only hold on to a reason because that makes them feel better and that boosts their confidence. But why not boost your confidence by being fit and looking healthy ?
People do not realize that they don’t have to find the magic formula to get in shape – just do baby steps which will get you in the shape you want. The following methods that I will share are recommended to drop fat rapidly.
1. Eliminate all drinks except for water, coffee and tea
Being hungry is very often mistaken for being thursty. Most unhealthy and overweight persons don’t know of that fact. A fast metabolism means fast digestion of the swollen food. Good metabolism is maintained by lots of water, coffee and tea. Try to start your day with a glass of cold water, around thirty minutes before the first eating.
2. Eliminate all sugars and starchy carbrohydrates
Sugar and honey in the tea or coffee should be forgotten. Don’t forget that fruits are also sugars and people that tend to eat of lot of fruites and then complain about gaining weight are just misinformed. Starchy carbrohydrates include pasta, rice, bread, potatoes, cereals, oats, rye, barle, couscous etc.
3. Eat a lot of vegetables*
Vegetables are a good appetite killer. Try to eat as much veggies as you can. A portion of 400-500 grams of spinach with 200 grams of fish will be enough to keep you fed in the following 3-4 hours. Other good sources for your plate are broccoli, cucumbers, tomatoes, kale, cauliflower, asparagus, cabbage, carrots, red cabbage.
4. Eat meat*
All kind of meat can do the trick. Stick to beef and fish, but pork, chicken and turkey will also be great for your body. Try not to eat any of the salami kind of meat like ham. If you are a vegetarian and think that you cannot follow these steps don’t forget what most soldiers used to eat back in the days – bean cultures. The lentil for example has 10 grams of protein per 100 cooked, along with tons of vitamins and benefits including not giving you a funny stomach as the bean does. It has 20 grams of carbs also, so don’t overeat it.
Try to walk every single day. A sixty minute walk burns more calories than a thirty minute jog! If you lack the time for that, just park your car in another neighborhood and walk to your office, university or school. If you use public transport just leave few stops before your final destination. If you are lazy for that you can always put your headphones on and put some music or listen to some audio books – educate yourself while getting fit.
6. Weight training
Basic exercises is good enough for beginners. Stick to full body routines twice or three times a week. If you are working at least 8-10 hours a day use the Mondays and Saturdays for that when you are most rested.
Raw nuts are good for your diet but don’t forget that they are very high on calories. An overweight person stuffing his face with cashews, almonds or walnut is a common view. People have the strong belief that it is healthy and something that gets you fit. Raw nuts have more than 500 calories per 100 grams which is one fourth of the recommended calorie intake for a healthy and fit person. Other bonuses are decreasing stress and increasing sleep. Try to put as little negative emotions over work, family matters or relationships. Stress increases your cortisol levels which results in gaining weight. Also, try to sleep at least 7 hours a night. Bad sleep makes you eat more and increases the chances for you to eat junk food in order to feel more energetic.
Following these six steps will do miracle for your body if you are overweight. After four to eight weeks you will look like a different person. However, I wouldn’t recommend this method as a way of life. Once, you get rid of your extra fat, you can add carbohydrates back to your diet, including fruits and honey. For starchy carbs just use mostly foods with a lot of fibers – wholewheat products. You must also check the Intermittent Fasting method which will for sure increase the speed of the lost weight.
*If you have any kind of health issues always consult with a doctor or professional nutritionist about the foods that will be in your diet. Old people should not consume a lot of meat for example. Women that are overweight have very often a reason behind that. One example is Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis disease. Foods that look healthy and are built in the mind as healthy like spinach, broccoli, cabbage are very unhealthy in that case.
