Lisa Swunderland, 25, is another example of the power of fitness. She realized that the healthy lifestyle is something that has to be a part of your life the hard way. From a young party girl to underweight due medical problems and then back again to overweight, one day she said enough is enough. Her story:
About my transformation ….. Well my name is Lisa and I’m 25 years old now. When I was a child I used to do Vaulting for more than 10 years. Vaulting is still a great sport for me, because you really learn to control your body. Flexibility, strength and body-tension. When I got older different things caught my attention. My youth was like a roller coaster. Party Party Party, i did not even took care about my grades at school and already gained a bit weight. When I was twenty I had to make a routine operation which got me in severe medical problems because I was allergic to the anesthetic. Doctors said that I’ve lost my heartbeat, so they got in trouble during the operation and yeah…. they simply forgot some cotton in me.
For months I was struggling with severe pain, my body noticed the foreign body but nobody knew. One day I thought I’m about to die as I went to the shower and lost a lot of blood. After I got back to the hospital, doctors removed foreign body, but due to the infection I was forced to take cortisone for nearly 3 months ! i gained almost 20 kg in these weeks. I felt terrible and that was when I’ve started to stop eating. In the beginning I got many compliments but I did not stop. In the end I was 51 kg…. but I’m 1,76m….. I looked and felt horrible. I’ve lost all my joy, was crying all the time, did not saw anymore sense in life, that was when I remembered my childhood. Vaulting. Sports !
That was when I decided to go to the gym. In the beginning I was more of a cardio- bunny – lifting was fun to me, but I was afraid to look too massive (how funny when I think about it today) .
Well but things changed, as I gained weight again and felt comfortable in my body again I was more and more into fitness.
I’ve founded @daily.workout.around.the.world on Instagram to keep me and others motivated. I’ve learned more and more, got to know new people who inspired me in a way, I can’t be thankful enough for.
Lifting became my life. It makes me feel comfortable, happy and proud to see how my body has changed.
For sure my transformation is not finished yet, but this is where I got in 2,5 years of constant training and nutrition.
