Uzair Shafique was in very bad form, he ate unhealthy foods, wasn’t interested in sports which has led him of being overweight. In the text below you can read his story about what has led him to the change and the way he achieved it.
I ate anything which came in front of me and that was my biggest problem. Even as a kid, I ate big portions and would not stop even after being full. Wearing nice clothes such as jeans and t shirts was a thought which wouldn’t even cross my mind because of the thought of looking bad or not feeling comfortable.
Once I hit College and University, I had a conversation with my aunty and from then on started going to the gym every day for 30 mins. I did my cardio for 20 mins and then hit weights and started to see results. Since then, everything has changed. I played rugby for Burnley for a short period and the weight was dropping off for fun. I lost over 8 and a half stone and am now looking to transform on a second stage to trim down even more to become more fit and healthy. I launched my own brand called #TEAMBEAST and want to get all fitness enthusiasts to wear it and represent the team.
My advice for anyone wanting to become fit and healthy is to work hard and dedicate time to the gym but also watch the most important thing which is food. Eat every few hours, good sized portions and you will see results guaranteed! #TEAMBEAST
Diet and workouts through which I achieved these results:
– Currently i eat 4-5 x per day
– morning porridge with 2 scoops and whey protein
– then rest of the day spread out carbs and protein ending day with a high protein meal and veg
– 1 cheat meal saturday night
– sometimes during the week may snack and have something bad but make up for it by doing extra cardio
– do high intensity interval cardio training – 4 x per week, 20 mins each session, which keeps me burning after i finish
– have 2 rest days from weights per week
– lift heavy 6-8 reps and dont go longer than an hour to the gym when i go
As you can see sometimes it takes something to happen to realize that you need a change, a change for a better life. To understand that you need to alter, you must first change your thinking, you should see yourself from another angle and ask whether you like the way you are. When you start something new, unknown and different from your previous way of life, it is always difficult, but the satisfaction of achievement is immense. As you can see Uzair has realized the need for change after a conversation with a close person, but he knew internally that he should do something and did not feel good in his skin. He totally changed his lifestyle, his diet, which has led to great results. What you can learn from him is that you have to be persistent and not to give up from the slightest difficulty, you must be committed to your goals and do not aside from the way you’re going through. I hope his story will serve as motivation for many people who need to change, but are not sure of themselves and are afraid to start a better life.
